We photograph most projects on handover day. Here are a few that show the breadth of what leaves the workshop.
Hillside villa living hall
A returning client asked for a living hall that would “disappear into the view” — low horizontal lines, nothing taller than the window sills. We delivered a four-metre teak sofa in warm linen, a floating media cabinet, a pair of slab coffee tables and a reading chair, all finished in the same hand-rubbed oil so the timber ages together.
Scope: 7 pieces · Timeline: 9 weeks · Timbers: teak, nyatoh
Sixty-cover café fitout
Working from the designer's mood board, we built banquette seating for the full perimeter, twenty-two tables, a service counter and the wait-station — all fabricated in Tebrau while the site was still being painted. Installation ran over two closed Mondays and one long night; the café never missed a weekend of trade.
Scope: full front-of-house · Timeline: 6 weeks + 11 days on site · Materials: nyatoh, commercial vinyl, brass
Penthouse study in American walnut
A writer's brief: a desk deep enough for two monitors and an open notebook, shelving for nine hundred books, and “no visible cables anywhere.” The desk hides a ventilated cable chase in its rear apron; the shelves are solid walnut on a concealed steel armature. Crated and installed 350 km from the workshop.
Scope: desk, 5.4 m shelving wall, chair · Timeline: 8 weeks · Timber: American walnut
A sideboard for the family porcelain
Not every commission is a whole room. This walnut sideboard was built around one thing: a set of inherited porcelain that had lived in a cardboard box for a decade. Felt-lined plate racks, a humidity-buffered cabinet section and doors quiet enough not to wake a sleeping baby in the next room.
Scope: single piece · Timeline: 6 weeks · Timber: American walnut, cedar lining
